“Everyone has a story to tell. What’s yours?”
MY STORY
Becks Vogels, Ph. D. (she/her) moved from Germany to New York City when she was 23 years old. The move changed her life. Becks lived in the US for many years, eventually swapping coasts and working in Silicon Valley at Salesforce, one of the biggest tech companies.
Becks encountered storytelling from different angles: When she moved to New York every cab driver could tell her their story. Later, she had a unique point of view on Silicon Valley storytelling and how it creates company values, encourages reinvention, and allows us all to make connections.
Becks is now studying screenwriting at UCLA and is learning storytelling from Hollywood’s greatest screenwriters.
Becks was named one of the California Diversity Council’s "Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Tech", and shortlisted for "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Women in IT Awards, Silicon Valley.
She regularly shares her knowledge of storytelling in her Forbes column, as well as in guest columns in many other publications. Previously, she also had a “Women in Tech” column for HuffPost. She is also the author of three books and is currently working on a screenplay.
As a skilled storyteller herself, Becks’ keynotes are creative and inspiring while also leaving audiences with a practical toolkit for using stories within their own lives.
This unique blend of inspiration and education is what makes Becks such a sought-after speaker and workshop leader, allowing her to work with businesses and institutions as diverse as the United Nations, Vodafone, Harvard University, Deka Bank, ÖBB, Austrian Postal Service, Salesforce. Becks studied at Harvard University, Columbia University, and the University of Arts, Berlin.
“Her approach to storytelling ist more powerfull than I could imagine"
